INPEX Scholarship Foundation 2026 Open for International Applicants from Indonesia, Australia, and UAE
The INPEX Scholarship Foundation has officially launched its 2026 scholarship cycle, inviting applications from exceptional students in Indonesia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to pursue fully funded master’s studies in Japan. With a long-standing mission to strengthen international friendship and academic exchange, this opportunity offers a unique pathway to world-class graduate education in Japan.
A Legacy of Educational Exchange
Founded in March 1981 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Indonesia Petroleum Ltd. (now INPEX Corporation), the INPEX Scholarship Foundation has supported over 200 scholars globally. From 2023, the Foundation broadened its scope to include Australia and the UAE alongside Indonesia.
In 2025, two new programs were introduced—the Exchange Student Scholarship Program and the ISF International Exchange Program—to foster academic collaboration and intercultural exchange at both university and high school levels.
What Makes INPEX Scholarships Unique?
Unlike many scholarship programs that cater to students already residing in Japan, the INPEX Scholarship is designed for students currently living in their home countries who intend to pursue master’s degrees in Japan. Applicants independently choose their desired graduate program and secure a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a Japanese university professor or supervisor before applying.
The scholarships cover round-trip airfare, Japanese language training fees, full tuition and related fees, a monthly stipend of 160,000 yen, commuter pass costs, and pre-arrival preparatory funds.
