Austria ASEA-UNINET Project Funding 2025
Students, doctoral candidates, and researchers now have an exciting opportunity to participate in ASEA-UNINET Project Funding 2025—a prestigious academic initiative promoting collaboration between Austrian and Southeast Asian universities.
Organized by OeAD-GmbH in cooperation with ASEA-UNINET and funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, this program is designed to support research, arts, and education-based partnerships through bilateral and multilateral projects.
Eligible Countries and Institutions
Projects must include at least one Austrian ASEA-UNINET member or candidate university (as the lead partner) and one ASEA-UNINET member university from the following countries as the cooperating partner:
Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Who Can Apply?
- Researchers (including those in the arts)
- Doctoral students
- Students (limited to those applying for clinical electives)
There is no age limit to apply, and all academic fields are welcome, including:
- Natural sciences
- Technical sciences
- Human medicine & health sciences
- Agricultural sciences
- Social sciences
- Humanities
- Arts
Program Scope and Duration
Project Duration:

- 1-year projects: October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026
- 2-year projects: October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2027
Mobility Duration:
-
- Minimum: 1 week
- Maximum: 3 months
- Clinical electives: 4, 6, or 8 weeks
Note: No degree is awarded through this project.
