Backed by a generous 2 million SEK annual grant, the Foundation supports brilliant minds eager to stretch the boundaries of Medicine, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Technical Fields through fully or partially funded research and study stays in some of the world’s top scientific destinations.
What’s the Buzz All About?
The Blanceflor Foundation Scholarships are tailored for Italian and Swedish nationals who are:
- PhD candidates or postdocs (within 5 years of PhD defense),
- Typically under 33 years old (exceptions made for special cases),
- Invited by a foreign university or institution in countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden, or Switzerland,
- Focused on research or higher academic studies excluding the arts, humanities, business, and social sciences.
Scholarship Categories – Choose Your Path!
1# Long-Term Scholarships
Up to 400,000 SEK/year for a maximum of 2 years
For major academic research or study stays abroad
Next deadline: 2 February 2026
Note: Cannot usually be combined with other funding—ideal for fully supported researchers.
2# Short-Term Scholarships
Smaller grants for 2–6 month research stays abroad
Can be combined with other financial support
Next deadline: 1 September 2025
