The University of Leicester invites applications for the prestigious EPSRC Scholarship 2025, designed to support exceptional PhD candidates across various disciplines. Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), this scholarship aims to foster groundbreaking research in areas spanning healthcare technologies, structural engineering, advanced materials, chemistry, and beyond. The scholarship is available for projects in the following departments:
- School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences
- School of Chemistry

Degree Levels: The scholarship is open to PhD candidates only.
Benefits EPSRC
The EPSRC Scholarship offers comprehensive funding for a duration of four years, including:
- A UK fee waiver for the full term of study.
- An annual stipend at UKRI rates (£19,237 for the academic year 2024/25; 2025/26 rates to be confirmed).
- A Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) of £8,500 per project.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold, or expect to obtain, at least the equivalent of a UK first or upper second-class degree in a relevant subject. International qualifications must meet equivalent standards.
