Where Would an EACH Student Study?
All students begin at the University of Tartu in Estonia, then pursue a specialist second-year track at a partner university. The options lead to Uppsala in Sweden for bioorganic analysis and advanced separation, Lyon in France for industrial analysis and process control, or Åbo Akademi in Finland for electroanalysis and sensors. You rank two track preferences when applying, but your eventual placement also depends on first-semester grades; your first choice is not guaranteed.
Would the Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarship Cover Living Costs?
The Erasmus Mundus package currently described by EACH includes a living allowance; a tuition waiver alone does not. The posted scholarship terms cover €18,000 in participation costs, including tuition and insurance, plus €1,400 a month for up to 24 months to meet subsistence, installation, travel and visa costs. Those figures describe the programme’s currently posted terms and still need confirmation for 2027. Scholarships are limited, merit-ranked and open to applicants worldwide subject to geographical balance. Someone who has already received an Erasmus Mundus master’s scholarship cannot receive another under the scheme.
A tuition-waiver place covers participation costs but carries no stated monthly living allowance; a fee-based place is currently listed at €9,000 per year. Accommodation, meals and mobility expenses are not included in the participation-cost coverage. If you need living support, do not treat a tuition waiver as financially equivalent to the Erasmus Mundus award.
Can Your Transcript and English Evidence Clear the First Screening?
Under the rules currently posted, your degree must include at least 60 ECTS in chemistry or chemical engineering and 20 ECTS in mathematics and/or physics, with a transcript average of at least 66% of the maximum grade. Applicants from systems that do not use ECTS can still apply; Tartu assesses credits and grades across national systems. Some diploma-issuing countries face additional requirements for the Uppsala track. Check the 2027 update before relying on any threshold.
Current English routes include IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 5.5, PTE Academic 62, or specified Cambridge tests. TOEFL iBT rules depend on the test date and scoring scale, so check the exact published scale rather than relying on a single TOEFL number. A previous degree taught in English does not automatically waive testing: the published exemptions require qualifying education and documentary proof in specified countries. University-issued language certificates outside the accepted routes do not suffice.
The current selection weights are 40% previous grades, 30% motivation letter and 30% online calculation test, with separate minimum thresholds. The letter is capped at 2,000 characters including spaces. EACH expressly forbids AI-written motivation letters and AI use during the test; a violation can disqualify an applicant. How Should You Prepare Your EACH 2027 Application?
- Read the official admission information again when the promised 2027 update appears. Verify the scholarship window, nationality rules, language scores, documents and deadline before applying.
- Assemble an official bachelor’s transcript and diploma or current transcript if you are still studying, certified translations where needed, passport copy, valid English evidence and proof of residence showing your name and address. Check country-specific document rules; the 2027 treatment of pending graduates must be confirmed.
- When the intake opens, use the EACH DreamApply course portal. Follow the newly published scholarship-period instructions, enter your two track preferences and submit your own final motivation letter. The current rules say submitted text cannot be edited, although further documents may be uploaded.
- Check your email for the calculation test invitation. If admitted, follow the offer’s instructions for signed paper documents reaching Tartu; budget for any visa process. EACH does not state an application fee on its current admission page, so confirm whether one applies in the updated portal before submission.
