Programme Overview
The GTFC U19 Football Shadow Scholarship is available to 16-year-olds with exceptional football talent. Students will have the opportunity to:
- Train three times a week, focusing on strength and conditioning, football skills, and mastering game techniques.
- Compete in the prestigious EFL Community & Education Football Alliance (CEFA), representing the Grimsby Town U19 shadow team against other U19 squads across the country.
- Study for a Level 3 Sports qualification, covering essential topics such as anatomy, physiology, sports leadership, and coaching.
The training sessions take place both at Franklin Sixth Form College and the iconic Blundell Park, home of Grimsby Town Football Club. This groundbreaking programme mirrors the boys’ pathway but is tailored specifically to young female athletes. It offers:
- Elite coaching sessions.
- Regular competition in the EFL CEFA League.
