German IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program 2024
The International Mathematical Union (IMU), with the support of the Friends of the IMU (FIMU) and notable Breakthrough Prize laureates, is proud to offer the IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program 2024. This initiative is designed to nurture mathematical talent in developing countries, providing up to four aspiring mathematicians each year with the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences.
IMU Fellowship Overview
The fellowship provides comprehensive support, including tuition, travel, accommodation, and living expenses, up to USD 10,000 annually for a maximum of four years. This enables recipients to focus entirely on their doctoral studies and research without financial burden.
Eligibility Criteria
Targeted at students from developing countries, the program seeks individuals with an excellent academic track record and a strong desire to pursue research and teaching careers in mathematics. Candidates must be nominated by professional mathematicians and must be pre-accepted into a recognized doctoral program in a developing country.
Application Process
The nomination period runs from February 1 to May 31, 2024. All nominations, alongside required documents such as motivation letters, academic transcripts, and letters of recommendation, must be submitted online through the IMU website in English.
