The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) has officially opened applications for a PhD fellowship focused on “Physicochemical characterization of materials and water” as part of the EU-funded research initiative, FUSION – Comprehensive and sustainable solution to minimize food loss and waste and promote food security in the Mediterranean region.

The PhD fellow will be engaged in cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in the fields of plasma technology, water analysis, and material characterization, helping to address the global challenge of food waste and food security.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a BSc in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Be registered as a PhD candidate in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related department.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in:
- Plasma technology setups
- Characterization methods such as TGA, XPS, and BET
- Be fluent in Greek and possess English proficiency (minimum B2 level; higher levels earn more points during evaluation).
