International students seeking advanced training in statistical methods and data analysis now have a golden opportunity to participate in the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Summer Program 2025 at the University of Michigan. The program, globally recognized for its comprehensive curriculum in quantitative methods, is now accepting applications for its scholarship competition and paid teaching assistantships (TAships).
Program Details
The ICPSR Summer Program provides hands-on training in a variety of research methodologies, including data visualization, Python, R, and advanced statistical techniques. The program runs across two primary sessions and includes specialized workshops:
- First Session: June 9 – July 3, 2025
- Second Session: July 7 – August 1, 2025
- Topical Workshops: May – August 2025
Scholarship Opportunities
ICPSR offers over $150,000 in scholarships annually, awarding funding to more than 50 students to help remove financial barriers and make statistical training accessible to students from diverse backgrounds. Scholarships cover tuition for the summer program’s courses.
Eligibility & Application Requirements
Eligibility criteria vary for different scholarships, but in general, applicants must submit:
- A CV (Curriculum Vitae)
- A Cover Letter
- A Recommendation Letter.

Paid Teaching Assistantship (TAships) Also Available
ICPSR is also accepting applications for paid teaching assistantships (TAships) for the summer program. These positions offer $39.71 per hour and require in-person work at Ann Arbor, Michigan (remote work is not available). Teaching assistants can also enroll in up to two methods courses from the general sessions as an added benefit.
