About the Award

The Jung Career Advancement Award provides a substantial grant of €210,000 to support a medical research project over a three-year period. The funds are designed to help researchers advance their careers and make significant contributions to their fields. The grant is divided into two equal installments, with the second installment contingent on a positive interim report reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Board.

This award is specifically targeted at medical professionals who have:

  • Completed at least two years of scientific research, preferably abroad.
  • A documented record of scientific accomplishments.

Recipients of the award are expected to be relieved of clinical duties for at least one year to focus on their research before resuming additional clinical training. Intermittent protected time for research is also provided for the remaining two years.

Applicants do not need to specify a host institution at the time of application. Instead, they will choose one in consultation with the Foundation after being selected for the award.
