Lithuania Government Scholarship 2024 for Master Degree (Exchange)

The Education Exchanges Support Foundation proudly announces the opening of applications for the Lithuanian state scholarships, designed for ambitious and talented international students eager to pursue full-time Master’s degree or integrated studies in Lithuania. This Lithuanian program for the year 2024 aims to foster educational exchange and cultural understanding, offering a unique opportunity for students from selected countries to further their education in one of Europe’s most vibrant and culturally rich countries.

What is this Scholarship all about?

The program offers 100 scholarships to citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Georgia, Israel, Japan, Moldova, South Korea, Ukraine, and foreigners of Lithuanian origin from non-EU and EFTA countries. These scholarships cover monthly allowances and study costs, with specific quotas for Belarus (10 grants), Ukraine (20 grants), and foreigners of Lithuanian origin (5 grants). Each monthly scholarship amounts to 550 EUR, with the grant for study costs adhering to the national standard study price limit.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet several criteria:

    • Citizenship in one of the specified countries or be a foreigner of Lithuanian origin from non-EU and EFTA countries.
    • For Belarus citizens, a valid residence permit in Lithuania is required.
    • Proficiency in Lithuanian, English, or the language of the study program.
    • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree by the end of the 2024 academic year or current enrollment as a 4th-year student in integrated studies.
    • An official letter of acceptance or pre-acceptance for full-time Master’s degree studies from a Lithuanian higher education institution.
    • No previous receipt of funding under this scholarship program.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates must apply through the online application system, providing all required documents in English or Lithuanian. The application process includes registering in the system, creating an application, and submitting required documentation such as a recommendation letter, acceptance letter, and, for specific applicants, proof of residence or Lithuanian origin.

What are Eligibility Terms?

Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s motivation (50%) and academic achievements (50%). Priority will be given to candidates focusing on studies in the Lithuanian language, holders of degrees from Lithuanian institutions, and those enrolling in Informatics, Life sciences, and Engineering programs.

Financial Conditions and Obligations:

Recipients are obliged to study physically in Lithuania, as remote studies do not qualify for this scholarship. The grant covers the study costs up to the national standard study price. Scholars will receive payments directly to their bank accounts and must commence learning the Lithuanian language during their first academic year.

Application Deadline for 2024 Batch

The application deadline for study in Lithuania scholarship admission program is 6 May 2024, with final results announced by 1 July 2024.
