MBA Excellence Scholarships 2027 Open at Nottingham Trent University

Could you keep building your career while studying for an MBA with up to half your tuition covered? Nottingham Trent University’s MBA Excellence Scholarship offers that possibility for UK and international professionals entering the Global Executive MBA in January 2027. The course runs part-time over two years, combining online learning with residential study experiences.

Your first move is to secure a course offer. The scholarship deadline is 7 October 2026, so applicants without an offer should contact the MBA team promptly rather than assume an admission application guarantees time for funding consideration.

NTU GEMBA: Secure Your Offer Before Seeking the Fee Reduction
Status: Open for January 2027 GEMBA entrants.
Applicants: UK and international professionals with an eligible course offer and NTU ID.
Study: Two-year, part-time Global Executive MBA; blended delivery.
Funding: Competitive tuition reduction of up to 50%; no living stipend is listed.
English: Meet your course offer’s language conditions; approved alternatives to IELTS exist.
Application fee: MBA admission applications are free.
Deadline: 7 October 2026, 16:00 BST; 20:00 in Pakistan.
Official information checked: 1 October 2026.

How much of your MBA budget will the scholarship cover?

The award reduces tuition by up to 50%, leaving you to fund the remaining fees and additional expenses. The maximum is not a guaranteed award for every successful applicant. International candidates may also seek NTU’s international scholarships, but normally receive the higher-value award rather than combine the two.

GEMBA participants must budget for travel to residential locations, necessary travel visas, additional meals and local transport. Ask NTU for a written fee breakdown covering both academic years before calculating your total saving: its general funding page warns that second-year fees may be reviewed annually.

Is this the right MBA route for your experience?

GEMBA is designed for experienced professionals who want to study alongside work. Online learning and live sessions are supported by residential experiences, with opportunities involving Nottingham, France and South Africa; destinations and timings may change.

NTU’s MBA application guide typically expects at least three years of post-graduation experience involving responsibility for people, projects, budgets or organizational resources. Applicants without a degree may be considered with eight or more years of professional experience. This is an alternative admission route, not automatic acceptance.

Government or funding-body tuition sponsorship makes applicants ineligible for this scholarship, even if it covers only part of the fees. Each candidate can submit only one scholarship application.

Which achievement should lead your scholarship statement?

Choose the strategic theme that best fits your actual experience. Use the following mapping to identify evidence; the suggested examples are preparation ideas, not additional official requirements.

NTU theme Evidence you could explain
Creating Opportunity How your leadership, mentoring or enterprise expanded access for others.
Valuing Ideas An innovation, collaboration or cross-border partnership you helped develop.
Sustainability and Enriching Society A contribution to communities, inclusion, responsible leadership or environmental outcomes.

A useful statement connects your role, actions and results to your next leadership goal. Explain what changed because of your contribution; a job title alone gives the committee little evidence of impact.

How do you apply if your admission or English evidence is unfinished?

You can begin admission before completing an English test, but scholarship submission must wait for your offer and NTU ID. IELTS is not the sole accepted qualification; NTU lists alternatives including TOEFL iBT and PTE. Confirm the exact GEMBA requirement with admissions. Duolingo is not accepted, and a medium-of-instruction letter is not generally sufficient unless covered by NTU’s published exceptions.

  1. Apply for January 2027 GEMBA. Follow NTU’s MBA application guide. Prepare an updated CV, personal statement, relevant transcripts and certified translations where needed.
  2. Arrange supporting evidence. Provide the required reference and upload outstanding English evidence when available. Ask [email protected] about admission timing if you do not yet have an offer.
  3. Submit the scholarship separately. After receiving your offer and NTU ID, use the online form linked from the MBA Excellence Scholarship page, selecting one strategic theme.
  4. Plan the remaining costs. Review the MBA funding guidance and meet any outstanding offer conditions.

The last date to apply for Nottingham Trent University’s MBA Excellence Scholarship for January 2027 GEMBA entry is Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at 16:00 BST (15:00 UTC; 20:00 Pakistan time). Late final-deadline applications are not considered. As checked on 1 October 2026, September 2027 scholarship applications are described as opening soon, without a published deadline.
