The Megabuyte Scholarship, supported by Ian Spence, founder and Chairman of Megabuyte, provides funding to UK students who are beginning their MSc Finance studies in January 2025. This scholarship recognizes the underrepresentation of women in the finance industry and aims to foster gender diversity by empowering female finance professionals of the future.

Scholarship Benefits

The Megabuyte Scholarship offers significant financial support for eligible students. The scholarship provides up to £10,000 towards tuition fees, with an additional cash bursary of up to £5,000 to cover other expenses. It is exclusively available to postgraduate students who are new, full-time enrollees in their first year of study. The scholarship applies specifically to the MSc Finance program, making it a tailored opportunity for those pursuing advanced studies in this field.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Megabuyte Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Identify as female.
  2. Hold a firm offer to study a full-time MSc Finance course beginning January 2025.
  3. Be a UK student (English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish) with a UK Student Support Number.
  4. Self-fund the course, whether through a student loan or personal/family contributions. (Course fees paid by businesses, charities, or other organizations are not eligible.)
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to working in the finance research sector.

Provide evidence of a gross income of £25,000 or less in the 2023/24 financial year, using documents such as:

    • P60s
    • Student Finance Entitlement Letters
    • Self-employment tax returns
