Nottingham Trent University Scholarships 2027 Open for Foreign Applicants
Could a tuition scholarship bring your UK master’s within reach this January? Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has opened January 2027 admissions across subjects including finance, management, cyber security, engineering and biosciences, with scholarships worth up to 50% of tuition.
Your first move is to secure a course offer: the final scholarship deadline is 31 October 2026, so leaving admission until the end of October could cost you the funding opportunity.

Which January 2027 Course fits your qualifications?
Choose a January-start course first, then check its academic entry requirements and scholarship eligibility separately. Options include MSc Finance, MSc Management, MSc Project Management, MSc Digital Marketing, MSc Cyber Security, MSc Engineering Management, MSc Biotechnology and MSc Chemistry. Most January courses start on 18 January 2027, although some have different dates.
Check both the qualification equivalence for your country and the requirements of your chosen degree. A subject requirement, professional background or additional assessment can matter as much as your overall grade. The university’s broader scholarship scheme also covers eligible bachelor’s courses, but that does not make every undergraduate programme available in January.
Current NTU students, Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC) progression students and applicants whose tuition is sponsored wholly or partly by an employer, government or funding body are excluded from this international scholarship scheme.
How much could NTU reduce your tuition?
These scholarships reduce tuition; you still need a budget for the remaining fees and living expenses. NTU Excellence Scholarships offer 25% or 50% off first-year tuition. Other options include the £3,000 International Merit Scholarship, £2,000 International Scholarship and country or school awards with additional criteria.
For illustration, a 50% award against a £20,000 tuition bill would leave £10,000 payable, before accommodation, food and travel. That is a budgeting example, rather than a quoted NTU course fee: use the fee published for your exact programme.
Your advance tuition payment also needs planning. NTU currently lists £6,000 for most international students and £9,000 for specified applicant groups, including postgraduate applicants from India, Nigeria and Pakistan. Applicants from Punjab and Haryana in India face a full first-year tuition payment requirement. Follow your offer’s payment conditions.
Your route from admission to scholarship consideration
Apply for the degree through NTU’s admission portal, obtain an offer and then submit the separate scholarship application. Work through the following sequence:
- Confirm the course and intake. Use NTU’s January-start master’s catalogue to open your programme page. Check its January 2027 availability, entry requirements, fees and any additional documents. January availability alone does not establish scholarship eligibility.
- Prepare your admission evidence. Gather qualification certificates, graded transcripts, accepted English-language evidence and a personal statement explaining your preparation and reasons for choosing the course. Where references are required, request them yourself: NTU does not obtain them on your behalf. References should be typed, dated, signed and on headed paper.
- Submit your course application. Register in the NTU Applicant Portal, select the correct course and start date, and upload evidence in “My Documents”. Direct applications are free. You can return to upload remaining documents when available; respond promptly to requests for further information.
- Receive and review your offer. NTU aims to decide within 5–10 working days, but advises allowing at least three weeks. Interviews, portfolios or missing information can extend this. Read any academic or English conditions, accept your chosen offer in the portal and plan how to satisfy them.
- Apply for scholarship consideration. Open the NTU international scholarships page, check eligible courses and select “Scholarship Application Form”. One submission covers eligible awards. Complete the 500-word essay yourself; NTU rejects AI-generated applications. For merit-based consideration alone, provide your personal details and select the merit-based awards option without the essay.
- Complete the remaining admission requirements. Meet your offer conditions and arrange the required advance tuition payment. A scholarship cannot pay that advance. If you need a Student visa, complete NTU’s CAS process and follow the dates communicated to you before arranging your arrival.
IELTS is one accepted route to proving English proficiency. NTU also accepts qualifications such as TOEFL iBT and PTE, subject to course rules. Many master’s courses require IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each component, but some require higher component scores. Duolingo is not accepted, and a medium-of-instruction letter works only where NTU explicitly lists an exception.
Work backwards from the October scholarship deadline
Applicants without an offer should begin admission now and allow time for assessment before submitting their scholarship form. NTU typically has no universal master’s admission deadline, but individual courses can set dates or close when places fill. Admission, outstanding documents, advance payment and CAS requirements therefore follow the course and your offer; 31 October is the scholarship deadline.
The last date to apply for Nottingham Trent University’s International Scholarships for January 2027 entry is Saturday 31 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT.
