This scholarship is tailored for students who are currently onshore in Australia and ready to start short, structured research projects that could shape their academic futures.
MRes Program Details
The Master of Research (MRes) at Macquarie University is a research-intensive program offering students advanced academic and professional training through a one-year research project. It’s ideal for those looking to deepen their expertise and take the first step towards a PhD or research career.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must start your program in Session 2 (July 2025). The program requires students to enroll full-time and to have a confirmed academic supervisor—especially if you’re applying within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS).

Eligibility Criteria

- Be eligible and ready to commence the MRes program in July 2025 (no deferrals allowed).
- Plan to reside in Sydney, Australia for the entire duration of the program.
- Be enrolled full-time.
- Meet Macquarie’s English language proficiency and academic entry requirements for graduate research.
- Have a confirmed Macquarie University supervisor (compulsory for FMHHS, recommended for other faculties).
- Hold a valid Australian visa that allows full-time study through the end of 2026 (e.g., student visa or equivalent).
