Study in Canada Scholarships 2025 (SICS) Online Applications

The Study in Canada Scholarships (SICS) for the 2025-2026 academic year are now open for applications. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this prestigious program enables Canadian post-secondary institutions to host talented international students for short-term study or research exchanges. This Canadian scholarship fosters global academic connections, strengthens bilateral ties, and enhances cultural exchange between Canada and participating countries.


Benefits of this Canadian Scholarship

Selected candidates will receive funding to cover a wide range of expenses, including:

  • Visa or study/work permit fees
  • Airfare (most direct and economical route)
  • Health insurance
  • Living expenses, such as accommodation, utilities, and food
  • Ground transportation, including a public transportation pass
  • Books and supplies required for study or research (excluding computers and equipment)

Award Value and Duration

Following are the details of study in Canada 2025 scholarships type, value, duration, and activity levels:

College/Undergraduate $10,200 Four months Study or research at the college/undergraduate level (student exchange agreement required).
Graduate (4 months) $10,200 Four months Study or research at the graduate level (Masters/PhD). No exchange agreement required.
Graduate (5-6 months) $12,700 Five to six months Study or research at the graduate level.

Canadian institutions hosting scholarship recipients are also eligible for $500 per recipient to aid with administrative costs.


Eligibility Criteria

For Candidates: To be eligible, candidates must:

    • Be citizens of an eligible country/territory:
      • Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan
      • Europe: Türkiye, Ukraine
      • Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia
      • Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda
    • Be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in their home country.
    • Be paying tuition fees to their home institution for the full duration of the scholarship.

For Canadian Institutions: Canadian post-secondary institutions must:

    • Be Designated Learning Institutions (DLI).
    • Have valid student exchange agreements that waive tuition fees (required for college/undergraduate students).

For Candidates: International students must contact the international office at their home institution for application details. Canadian institutions apply on behalf of eligible candidates.

For Canadian Institutions:

    1. Register for a My EduCanada account.
    2. Complete and validate the online application form for SICS.
    3. Upload required documents (e.g., supporting letters, academic records).

Application Deadline: The last date for Canadian institutions to submit applications for Study in Canada 2025 scholarship applicants is March 18, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. EDT.
