What is the GREAT Scholarship?

The GREAT Scholarship supports international students in accessing world-class education in the UK. It provides financial support of a minimum of £10,000 for students pursuing a one-year postgraduate program at one of the 71 participating UK universities. For the 2025/26 academic year, The University of Manchester is offering five scholarships specifically designed for students from Bangladesh, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the GREAT Scholarship at The University of Manchester, you must:

  • Hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the university by 24 April 2025.
  • Be a resident and citizen of one of the eligible countries.
  • Meet specific eligibility and selection criteria outlined by the university.

Application and Selection Process

  1. Application Start Date: Relevant offer-holders will receive the scholarship application form via email from the International Office starting December 2024.
  2. Deadline: Complete and submit the application form by 24 April 2025.
  3. Notification: Successful applicants will be informed by 30 May 2025.
  4. Confirmation: Winners must firmly accept their offer by 15 June 2025 to confirm their scholarship.
