Uppsala University Master Scholarships for Fall 2025 intake

1# Uppsala University Global Scholarship
Open to: Citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
Scholarship Coverage: The Uppsala University Global Scholarship covers full tuition fees for a Master’s programme at Uppsala University. Note that this scholarship does not cover living expenses.
Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
- Academic excellence is key, and you must demonstrate exceptional academic talent and a strong desire to be part of a vibrant educational environment.
- Only Master’s programmes at Uppsala University that are your first-priority choice are considered for this scholarship.

2# Anders Wall’s Scholarship for Studies at Uppsala University
Open to: Citizens of African countries.
Scholarship Coverage: This scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees for either a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme. Living expenses, however, are not included.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must hold citizenship in an African country.
- The scholarship is awarded based on academic talent and motivation to study at Uppsala University.
- Your application must be for a degree programme at Uppsala University listed as your first-priority choice.
- You need to apply through University Admissions, fulfill all entry requirements, and ensure your documents and application fee are submitted by the relevant deadlines.
3# The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship
Open to: Citizens of Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Malawi, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Palestine, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, and Ukraine.
Scholarship Coverage: This scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees for Master’s studies at Uppsala University, excluding living expenses.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must hold citizenship from one of the specified countries listed above.
- Priority is given to students living in unsafe and conflict-affected areas or regions impacted by natural disasters.
- You must demonstrate both academic talent and the need for a safe and stimulating educational environment.
- Applications must be for a Master’s programme at Uppsala University listed as your top-priority choice.
- Meeting all entry requirements, including submitting a completed application and all supporting documents by the deadline, is mandatory.
4# Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Scholarship
Open to: Citizens of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.
Scholarship Coverage: The scholarship partially covers tuition fees at Uppsala University, offering approximately SEK 40,000 per academic year (or SEK 20,000 per semester).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must have a valid passport of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.
- The scholarship can only be awarded for a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme listed as your first-priority choice.
- Meeting all programme entry requirements is necessary, as well as ensuring all application documents and fees are submitted by the designated deadlines.
- Note that some programmes, such as the Joint Nordic Master’s Programme in Environmental Law, are excluded from eligibility for this scholarship.
