What is the Career & Technical Scholarship (CTS)?

CTS is one of the three pathways to high-demand careers in Washington state, offered by the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS). It provides crucial financial support to students pursuing apprenticeships, certificates, or associate degree programs. CTS covers more than just tuition – it can also help with housing, transportation, food, and other essential expenses. This is your chance to turn your passion into a rewarding career!

Who is Eligible?

If you’re planning to enroll in an associate degree, certificate, or apprenticeship program at one of Washington’s 34 community or technical colleges, or with an approved apprenticeship sponsor, CTS could be the perfect fit for you. Additionally, undocumented students are welcome to apply.

Key Eligibility Requirements:

  • Residency: Must be a Washington state resident.
  • Financial Need: Applicants must meet specific income guidelines based on family size and income.
  • Education Plan: Must enroll in at least three credits per term and be working toward an associate degree, certificate, or apprenticeship. If you’re aiming for a bachelor’s degree, you should consider applying for the Baccalaureate Scholarship (BaS) instead.
