Eligibility Criteria

   • Doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree (or equivalent).
   • Those expecting to graduate in 2025 must submit a pre-graduation certificate to confirm they will obtain their degree by July 2025.
4. Age Limit:
   • Master’s program applicants should be under 40 years of age by September 1, 2025.
   • Doctoral program applicants should be under 45 years of age by September 1, 2025.
5. Language Proficiency:
   • Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must pass HSK Level 4 or above.
   • Applicants for English-taught programs must provide proof of English proficiency, such as IELTS or TOEFL scores.

Application Process

The USTC scholarship application involves several steps, and candidates should pay close attention to deadlines and requirements.

2. Online Assessment: February or March 2025
   • USTC departments will review your application and conduct online interviews and assessments. Some departments may also require entrance exams.
3. Admission Results: June or July 2025
   • Successful applicants will receive an admission notice along with visa application forms (JW201/JW202) to apply for a student visa (X1).
