What’s on Offer?
The GSK Scholarships provide funding for three exceptional candidates to study at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Each scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fees, including mandatory field trip costs.
- A generous tax-free stipend of £22,000 for living expenses during the one-year MSc program.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be nationals and residents of sub-Saharan Africa.
- Intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa upon completion of their MSc program.
- Demonstrate financial need by confirming their inability to fund the program independently.
- Meet LSHTM’s English language requirements.
- Hold a first degree with first or upper second-class equivalency.
- Secure an offer of admission for a London-based intensive MSc program at LSHTM for 2025-26.
Preference will be given to applicants showcasing significant potential to contribute to public health and health-related research in Africa.
How to Apply?
The application process involves 2 crucial steps, both of which must be completed by 23:59 (GMT) on Wednesday, 5 March 2025.
Step 1: Apply for Admission: Submit an application for a London-based MSc program via LSHTM’s Admissions Portal.
Step 2: Apply for the Scholarship
- Upon submitting your MSc application, you’ll receive a link to the online scholarship portal.
- Search for “GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders https://www.lshtm.ac.uk/study/fees-and-funding/funding-scholarships/2025-26-gsk-scholarships-future-health-leaders,” complete the application form, and submit it.
Application Deadlines
- Applications close at 23:59 (GMT) on 5 March 2025.
- Complete your MSc application 2–3 days before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
- Scholarship decisions will be announced in the week beginning 2 June 2025.
