Singapore Ministry of Education Postgraduate Scholarships 2025

The Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore has announced its Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) and Postgraduate Awards (PGA) for 2025. Applications will open on 2 January 2025 and close on 22 January 2025. These scholarships provide opportunities for education professionals to pursue postgraduate studies in 2026.

    • Tuition fees for approved local or overseas Master’s or PhD programs.
    • Maintenance allowance for overseas studies.
    • Return airfare (economy) for scholars and spouses (overseas studies only).

    • Full salary during the sponsorship period for PGS recipients.
    • Half salary for PGA recipients.
    • Book allowances (local studies only).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the PGS or PGA, applicants must:

  1. Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (PRs must obtain citizenship before starting studies).
  2. Hold an undergraduate degree.
  3. Have at least 5 years of experience in the education field by 31 December 2025.
  4. Demonstrate good conduct and potential for higher responsibilities.
  5. Have earned at least one ‘B’ performance grade in the last three years.
  6. Fulfill any minimum service requirements for previous professional development programs attended.

Program Details

The MOE Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) and Awards (PGA) offer a range of options for education professionals to advance their careers through higher education. Applicants can pursue a Master’s degree locally or overseas, either full-time or part-time (subject to approval). Additionally, Senior Specialists can apply for PhD programs, while Master Teachers have the option to undertake a Doctorate in Education (EdD). The bond duration varies depending on the program, with Master’s recipients committing to 2–3 years and PhD/EdD recipients to 6 years.

The programs cover diverse study areas, including subject-specific fields, curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and other education-related specializations.
