£4,000 Masters Scholarship for RE/RVE/RME Educators Open
If you’ve been waiting for the moment to supercharge your impact in Religious Education (RE), Religion, Values & Ethics (RVE) or Religious and Moral Education (RME), this is it. Culham St Gabriel’s is now accepting applications for its Masters Scholarship Programme for the 2026 study year—an elite, limited-places opportunity that helps UK-based educators turn classroom passion into sector-shaping research and practice. With up to £4,000 towards your masters fees, a thriving national community of practice, and priority themes that speak to today’s most urgent challenges (from SEND to AI), this is your fast track to real, measurable change.
Why this matters now?
The scholarship doesn’t just fund study—it funds impact. Scholars join a virtual community led by Education & Programmes Manager Fiona Moss to discuss research, share findings, and spread innovations across schools, advisory services, and regional networks. In short, you’ll study smarter, lead bolder, and see your work ripple far beyond your own classroom.
The headline details (read carefully)
Applications are open year-round, but the next cut-off is 10 October 2025, with decisions issued in the week beginning 10 November 2025. Scholarships are very limited and allocated to UK residents only, so speed and completeness matter.
What you’ll get?
Successful applicants receive up to £4,000 towards tuition on a masters-level Certificate, Diploma, or full Masters directly connected to RE/RVE/RME and the trust’s strategic objectives. Most scholars study part-time while working as a qualified teacher, teaching assistant, or HLTA in a UK school; advisers, educators, and researchers in other settings are also considered. In exceptional cases, full-time study may be supported.
Are you eligible?
You should be working in RE/RVE/RME (teacher, educator, adviser, etc.), pursuing a programme that clearly improves practice and outcomes in your workplace or region, and aligns with Culham St Gabriel’s vision. If you are a serving teacher, your school must agree to release you for three days per year during term time for the duration of your course. The programme welcomes applications from under-represented groups, particularly UK Minority Ethnic and Global Majority Heritage backgrounds, and from primary sector colleagues.
Priority Research Themes for 2025–26
While all strong RE/RVE/RME projects are welcome, priority consideration will be given to proposals focused on:
- SEND in religion and worldviews education
- Artificial Intelligence (e.g., generative AI in pedagogy, models, ethics, and moral questions)
- TWOS: supporting and equipping religion and worldviews teachers whose main specialism is elsewhere
- Equity & representation: supporting teachers and leaders from under-represented groups
Timeline you can’t miss
Applications are reviewed three times a year (November, March, June). Because places can be allocated early in the academic cycle, apply in the Autumn or Spring terms where possible. For this round, submit by 10 October 2025 to receive a decision the week beginning 10 November 2025.
