The Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship offers one of the most generous support packages in Europe. Selected students will receive:

• Total value: Up to €34,000 per academic year.
• Tuition Fee Waiver: Paid in full by UM.
• Monthly Stipend: Approx. €1,225 for living expenses (housing, food, travel, and personal costs).
• Health & Liability Insurance: Fully arranged and paid.
• Visa Application Costs: Covered.

Duration:

• 13 months for one-year Master’s programmes.

Eligibility Checklist for NL Scholarship Applicants

To be considered for this Maastricht University NL High Potential Scholarships 2026, applicants must meet all the following:

• Hold nationality from a non-EU/EEA country, Switzerland, or Surinam.
• Meet the visa and residence permit requirements for the Netherlands.
• Have applied for admission to a participating full-time Master’s programme at Maastricht University for 2025–2026.
• Be 35 years old or younger on 1 September 2025.
• Have an excellent academic record (GPA of 7.5/10 or higher, or equivalent).
• Never previously enrolled in a degree-seeking programme in the Netherlands.
• Submit a complete set of application documents (CV, motivation letter, transcripts, GPA proof, financial need statement, and one academic/professional reference letter).

Application Method

Step 1: Apply for Admission

• • Submit your application for a participating Master’s programme at Maastricht University via Studielink.nl.
  • Once accepted, you’ll receive a student ID number required for the scholarship application.

Step 2: High Potential Scholarship Application Form

• • Log in with your UM account and complete the online form.
  • Upload all required documents in PDF/Word format (only one submission allowed, so ensure completeness).

Selection Process:

• • UM checks applications (Feb 2026).
  • Faculties shortlist top 5% (March 2026).
  • Online interviews for finalists (April 2026).
  • Final decisions announced by May 2026.
