Selection Criteria

To qualify for the Eric Bleumink Fellowship, candidates must meet strict academic and personal standards:

  • Must have received provisional or unconditional admission to a Master’s program at the University of Groningen before February 2026.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence with strong performance in previous undergraduate studies, supported by recommendation letters.
  • Proven English language proficiency in line with program admission requirements.
  • Must be in good health to secure Dutch health insurance.
  • Must hold nationality from an eligible country (including Pakistan, India, Nigeria, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, and many others listed by the university).
  • Must not have any other means of financing their studies.

Application Process

Unlike most scholarships, students cannot directly apply for the Eric Bleumink Fellowship. Instead:

  • Applicants must apply for a Master’s programme at the University of Groningen here.
  • Only those who secure provisional or unconditional admission before February 2026 will be considered.
  • The Admission Office and faculty boards will nominate suitable candidates for the fellowship.
  • Selected nominees will be informed directly about their nomination.

The last date to apply for a Master’s programme at the University of Groningen to be considered for the Eric Bleumink Fellowship 2026 is 1 December 2025.
