Eligibility Overview for Master’s and PhD Applicants

PhD applicants must hold both a 4-year Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in a relevant field from accredited institutions, typically with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent in both degrees. Applicants are required to submit two academic recommendation letters, a well-structured research proposal, and proof of English proficiency such as IELTS 6.0 (overall and writing bands) or AIT EET ≥ 6.0. Doctoral scholarships are available for programs under the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD). Priority is given to candidates from Bhutan, Laos PDR, Timor-Leste, ASEAN countries, and other Asian nations.
