International students from developing countries aiming to study in the UK now have a fully funded opportunity to pursue master’s education at the University of Sheffield in 2026. The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarships 2026 are now open for eligible overseas applicants seeking postgraduate degrees in development-focused fields.
Offered in collaboration with the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust and the Sheffield Institute for International Development, this scholarship program is designed to support academically strong students who are committed to improving lives through international development, policy, communication, and law. With only three awards available, the scholarship is highly competitive and targeted toward students with strong academic and leadership potential.
This fully funded UK master’s scholarship covers full tuition and provides a generous maintenance stipend, making it an attractive opportunity for students who wish to study in the UK but require financial support.
Scholarship Package
This scholarship package is structured to provide full academic and financial support for selected scholars.

Eligibility Required to Apply
Applicants must carefully review all conditions as this is a competitive and highly selective scholarship.
- Must hold an offer for an eligible master’s course at the University of Sheffield for 2026-27
- Eligible courses include: International Development MSc, International Law and Global Justice LLM, International Political Economy MA, Global Journalism MA, International Public and Political Communication MA
- Must be classified as an overseas fee-paying student
- Must be permanently domiciled in an eligible low or lower-middle income country
- Must not already hold a qualification equal to or higher than the intended course
- Must not have previously studied outside their country of residence
- Must be self-funded and not sponsored by any government, organization, or scholarship body
- Cannot hold any other University of Sheffield or external funding award
- Must enroll full-time and start studies in September 2026
- Must meet all academic and visa requirements before enrollment
- Must accept course offer and submit visa evidence by specified deadlines
- Scholarship cannot be deferred.
