These Taiwan government-supported scholarships are structured to ease financial pressure on international students while they focus on academic or language training in Taiwan.

Under the 2026 call, funding support includes:

  1. Monthly stipend for living expenses during the scholarship period
  2. Tuition fee support for selected university programs (Taiwan Scholarship category)
  3. Mandarin language training support at recognized language centers (Huayu Scholarship)
  4. Duration-based funding for the entire approved study period
  5. Access to top Taiwanese universities and language institutes
  6. Opportunity to study in either Mandarin or English depending on program

Total Number of Awards Available: A total of 34 funded awards are available under the Taiwan Scholarships 2026 call. The HUAYU Enrichment Scholarship offers 30 awards in total, including 10 scholarships for one-year Mandarin language study and 20 scholarships for six-month Mandarin training at approved language centers in Taiwan. In addition, the Taiwan Degree Scholarship provides 4 funded slots for full academic programs at Taiwanese universities, covering bachelor’s degrees for up to 4 years, master’s degrees for up to 2 years, and doctoral (PhD) studies for up to 4 years depending on the selected level of study.
