List of France Universities for Admissions on Eiffel Scholarship 2027 (With Deadlines)

Your next degree in France could come with government-funded living support—but first, you need a French institution willing to nominate you. The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 supports outstanding international students entering eligible master’s, engineering and doctoral programmes. Are you applying from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas or Oceania? Your starting point is the same: find the right programme and its actual Eiffel application route.

That is where many applicants lose time. Some universities want an online pre-application; others require a programme coordinator’s approval or a doctoral supervisor. Admission and scholarship selection are separate, and the university deadline comes before the national deadline.

Below, you will find 17 universities and university-specific routes with published 2027 instructions for Eiffel scholarship-based admissions, plus four engineering schools and institutes. Each entry explains your first application step and the restrictions to check; the final calendar brings the deadlines together so you can act on your shortlist.

Find your French institution before chasing the Eiffel scholarship
Current status: The national 2027 call is open. Institution-level calls below are open or have announced upcoming windows.
Eligible audience: Foreign-national postgraduate applicants. French nationality, including dual French nationality, makes you ineligible.
Application bottleneck: A French institution must support and submit your Eiffel nomination. You cannot apply directly to Campus France.
Language and fees: Programme-specific. Do not assume an IELTS waiver, free admission application or automatic tuition coverage.
Deadline that matters to you: Your institution’s internal deadline. See the university-by-university calendar.
Official information checked: 9 October 2026. This is a verified working list, not an exhaustive national register; individual programmes may be excluded.

01 Can you pursue Eiffel funding for your degree?

You need an eligible postgraduate programme, the correct nationality and age profile, and an institution prepared to support you. Being eligible for university admission alone does not establish eligibility for Eiffel.

  • Master’s and engineering: The maximum age is 29 for the 2027 selection, expressed as a birth date after 31 March 1997. Applicants already studying in France are ineligible for the master’s component.
  • Doctorate: The maximum age is 35, expressed as a birth date after 31 March 1991. Applicants studying abroad receive priority; applicants already studying in France may qualify for relevant doctoral routes.
  • Nationality: You must be a foreign national. Holding French nationality alongside another nationality still excludes you.
  • Academic fit: You must satisfy the chosen programme’s qualification and subject prerequisites. Ask whether your degree permits entry into M1, the first master’s year, or M2, the second year; do not assume the same entry point everywhere.
  • Other funding: Eiffel cannot overlap with another French government scholarship, Erasmus+ or an Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie scholarship. Declare existing funding before nomination.
  • Scholarship history: A previously unsuccessful Eiffel application at the same level cannot simply be resubmitted through another institution. Declare earlier applications and awards honestly, and check the current rules with your nominating institution.

The seven priority fields are biology and health; ecological transition; mathematics and digital technology; engineering sciences; French history, language and civilization; law and political science; and economics and management. These are funding categories, not a promise that every degree with a similar title qualifies.

Start with a quick self-check: does your birth date pass, does your degree match the programme, and does the institution accept your circumstances? For example, a strong academic record cannot remove Angers’ partner-institution requirement or Paris-Saclay’s current doctoral cotutelle restriction.

02 What does Eiffel pay—and what must you budget for?

Eiffel provides a monthly allowance of €1,200 at master’s level and €2,000 at doctoral level, alongside travel and insurance support. Accommodation-search assistance is included; it does not mean free accommodation or a guaranteed room.

Funding can last up to 12 months for M2, 24 months for M1 and 36 months for an eligible engineering degree. Doctoral support depends on the route and stage of the thesis, with 12-, 18- or 36-month arrangements. Your host may offer only some of these options.

Tuition fees are not paid by Eiffel itself. Recipients taking qualifying national degrees or accredited engineering programmes at eligible public institutions can benefit from registration-fee exemptions. Ask the institution which charges remain for your exact programme, especially for specialized or privately priced courses.

Budget for any remaining tuition, housing deposits, initial living expenses and relevant admission or administrative charges. Compare the programme and likely living costs before choosing a city; the university’s willingness to nominate you does not settle your personal budget.

03 Which French universities have 2027 calls, and how do you apply?

The universities below have published current application instructions or announced 2027 windows. Follow the linked institutional page for your chosen programme; the deadline table at the end keeps all exact dates in one place. A doctoral-school announcement is labelled as such rather than treated as a university-wide call. Sciences Po Paris is excluded because it has explicitly announced that it will not participate in the 2027 selection.

1. Université Paris-Saclay — open. Master’s applicants must approach the coordinator of their intended programme with their academic background, results, ranking and study plans. Doctoral applications use ADUM. For this intake, Paris-Saclay supports only international cotutelle projects: a doctorate jointly organised with a foreign institution, with support lasting 12–18 months. Polytech Paris-Saclay engineering courses are excluded. Paris-Saclay application instructions.

2. University of Rennes — open. Master’s candidates submit an online pre-application through the form linked on its Eiffel page. Doctoral candidates return the prescribed form and PDFs to [email protected], including supervisor support. Use the subject EIFFEL DOCTORAT 2027 – LAST NAME – FIRST NAME – Université de Rennes. Rennes forms and document requirements.

3. Université de Toulouse — open. Submit the university’s pre-application form for your exact programme. Master’s applicants do not need prior coordinator contact; PhD applicants need supervisor support and primary doctoral enrolment at this university. The Plant Biology master’s is excluded from this call. This procedure does not cover every institution in the Toulouse area. Toulouse pre-application routes.

4. Aix-Marseille University — open. Master’s applicants use the contact form and upload the requested supporting documents. Doctoral applicants first identify a thesis supervisor, then email the required file to [email protected], copying the supervisor. The university publishes different deadlines for the two levels. Aix-Marseille Eiffel procedures.

5. Nantes Université — master’s call open. Its page lists participating programmes and faculty-specific application links. Choose the relevant link rather than emailing an unrelated department. The international office centralises requests, obtains academic support and submits supported applications. Nantes eligible master’s and forms.

6. University of Orléans — open. Master’s candidates send the prescribed form and a single supporting PDF to [email protected]. The university instructs applicants to use its international office rather than submit directly to programme directors. Doctoral support follows a supervisor-led route; confirm its timetable because the page contains separate doctoral and general campaign dates. Orléans forms and eligible programmes.

7. Université d’Artois — open. Complete its online application, then send the signed form and required documents combined into one PDF. Master’s files go to [email protected]; doctoral files go to [email protected]. Completing the online stage alone does not fulfil every instruction. Artois submission steps.

8. University of Angers — open, with a master’s restriction. You must be, or have been, a student at an international partner institution for the master’s route. Check that relationship before contacting the programme admissions office for an eligibility assessment. Doctoral applications must be submitted by thesis supervisors. Angers partner and application rules.

9. University of Poitiers — open. Identify an appropriate master’s programme or doctoral supervisor through the university’s course and doctoral-school links. Use its instructions to establish academic support and prepare a complete file before the internal deadline. Poitiers Eiffel contacts and procedure.

10. Université Bourgogne Europe — master’s call open. First secure the programme coordinator’s approval. Forward that approval to [email protected]; the international office then supplies the submission link and document list. Doctoral applicants should request their separate procedure from [email protected]. Bourgogne Europe master’s application route.

11. Université Montpellier Paul-Valéry — open. Master’s applicants complete the online contact form with supporting documents; late, incomplete or emailed requests are not considered under that route. Doctoral candidates approach a thesis supervisor, whose confirmation of support must reach the university’s international service. Montpellier Paul-Valéry master’s and doctoral procedures.

12. Université de Corse Pasquale Paoli — open. Build your pre-application with the international relations office, which connects you with the relevant academic director and centralises nominations. Contact [email protected]. The published call anticipates selecting three to five files for national submission, so a complete application does not guarantee nomination. University of Corsica call.

13. University of Lille — confirmed EGSESAM doctoral-school call. EGSESAM has announced its Eiffel 2027–2028 submission deadline. Applicants whose doctoral project belongs to that school should contact it about supervision and the required file. This announcement does not establish a single deadline for all Lille master’s programmes or doctoral schools. Lille EGSESAM announcement.

14. Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas — announced, not yet open on the verification date. The university has published its 2027–2028 application window and links to the current application guide. Read that guide and identify your programme or doctoral project before the window opens. Assas 2027 call and guide.

15. Université Lumière Lyon 2 — announced upcoming call. Master’s applicants use its online form and provide evidence for the selection questions. For doctoral applications, contact the research international office, [email protected], to confirm current requirements: the doctoral subsection retains some older information. Lyon 2 application announcement.

16. Toulouse Capitole University, through Toulouse School of Management — announced upcoming call. TSM accepts master’s-level applications only for this intake. Apply through its eCandidatures platform during the announced window. Its document list includes language certificates and recommendations; some MSc applicants also need a research proposal. TSM requirements and platform link.

17. Université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard, UTBM — open. UTBM has published an Eiffel call and E-candidat instructions for international applicants, covering engineering, master’s and doctoral study. Use its current guide and select the appropriate route; its early institutional deadline deserves attention. Doctoral applicants should also check the later confirmation and file-completion stages in the deadline table. Questions can be sent to [email protected]. UTBM call and E-candidat access.

Engineering applicants: include these four institutions in your searchThese are schools or institutes, so they should not be mislabelled as four additional universities. Each has published a current Eiffel application route.

  • Bordeaux INP: Its engineering-school group has an open 2027–2028 call. Identify the relevant school and programme and follow the Bordeaux INP instructions. Bordeaux INP and the University of Bordeaux are separate institutions.
  • EURECOM: Complete your EURECOM admission application in its first admission session, then request the separate Eiffel pre-selection guide from [email protected]. Use the subject Last Name_EURECOM/Eiffel Application 2027 and follow its scholarship instructions.
  • ENSICAEN: Email [email protected] to receive the submission link. Prescreened applicants are invited to a motivation interview before the institution validates their nomination. Follow its international application instructions.
  • Institut Agro Dijon: Its call covers listed agronomy and sustainable-food engineering degrees, master’s programmes and doctoral routes. Contact the relevant programme office listed in the 2027 announcement; do not assume every course qualifies.

Once you have found a suitable route, follow this application sequence:

  1. Select an exact eligible programme. Record its title, entry year, language, qualification requirements and remaining tuition. An institution’s participation is only your starting point.
  2. Follow its first-contact rule. Obtain coordinator approval where required, secure doctoral supervision where required, or submit the designated pre-application directly. Do not replace a mandatory form with a generic email.
  3. Submit the institution’s requested documents. Respect its file names, translations, PDF grouping and deadline. Some first-stage forms request fewer documents than the final Eiffel file. Prepare your CV, transcripts, degree evidence, ranking and career plan, but upload only what that institution requests.
  4. Resolve the nomination decision. If supported, complete the additional Eiffel material with the institution. Ensure that only one institution submits your nomination to Campus France.
  5. Complete the separate admission process. Follow the programme’s directions for Études en France, its own portal or another specified procedure. Eiffel selection does not automatically enroll you.
  6. Prepare for the national decision. University nomination is not a scholarship award. After selection, follow the official funding, enrolment and visa instructions applicable to your circumstances.
