University of Poitiers Scholarships 2027: Eiffel, SuCat and Funded Research Opportunities Open in France

The University of Poitiers in France is accepting France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship applications for 2027, opening a route into eligible master’s and doctoral studies with monthly financial support. Its SuCat master’s programme also has an active 2027–2029 admissions call with competitive scholarships—giving applicants interested in sustainable chemistry another option.

Which route fits your plans? Eiffel requires university nomination, SuCat runs its own selection, and IntREE offers a separate funded research-internship opportunity. This guide explains what is open, what funding means and where your application should go.

Your Poitiers funding options at a glance
ApplicationsEiffel and SuCat open; IntREE incoming M2 internships accept applications year-round.
Study levelsEligible master’s, engineering and doctoral routes; separate master’s research placements.
Funding headlineEiffel: €1,200/month for master’s or €2,100/month for doctorates.
Audience and languageInternational applicants; nationality, residence and language conditions differ by route.
TimingEiffel needs November action. SuCat continues into February. See the deadline section.
Official information checked8 November 2026. Award selection and admission are distinct decisions.

01Which Poitiers opportunities offer funding?

Eiffel and SuCat offer competitive degree funding; IntREE’s incoming placement supports research within an existing master’s pathway. SuCat specialises in homogeneous, heterogeneous and enzymatic catalysis, connecting chemistry training with more sustainable industrial processes.

Route Published support Practical distinction
France Excellence Eiffel Monthly allowance, transport services, insurance, housing-search assistance and cultural activities. Eiffel itself does not pay tuition fees. Housing assistance does not mean free accommodation.
SuCat Erasmus Mundus master’s Selected scholarship holders: €1,400/month for up to 24 months, plus participation-cost support paid to the consortium. Admission does not guarantee funding. Tuition waivers for non-scholarship students are also competitive.
IntREE incoming M2 internship Potential €2,000 travel assistance and approximately €600/month. A research placement for external master’s students, not admission to a complete funded degree.

For Eiffel, maximum master’s support is normally 12 months for M2, 24 months for M1 or 36 months for an engineering qualification. Doctoral funding duration depends on the approved route. For SuCat, waiver numbers and values remain unconfirmed; I would assess affordability only after receiving the actual funding offer.

IntREE also advertises a €2,000 welcome grant for international M1 entrants, but its master’s admissions page still displays a spring 2026 calendar. A general 2027 opening cannot therefore be confirmed from that page.

02Who should apply for Eiffel or SuCat?

Eiffel suits academically outstanding applicants in seven priority areas: biology and health; ecological transition; mathematics and digital sciences; engineering; history, French language and civilisation; law and political science; and economics and management.

Poitiers’ screening form specifies non-EU applicants without French nationality, strong class standing and B2 French for its master’s route. Master’s candidates already studying in France are excluded. Its published age ceilings are 29 for master’s and 35 for doctorates, but the form’s birth-date thresholds need confirmation for 2027.

SuCat accepts applicants worldwide with a relevant chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences or applied chemistry bachelor’s degree equivalent to at least 180 ECTS. English must be at least B2; an accepted university-issued English-medium degree certificate can replace a language test.

03How do you submit the right application?

  1. Eiffel: establish programme support. Start with the Poitiers Eiffel call, choose an eligible course or doctoral supervisor, then follow its screening and faculty-submission instructions. Prepare diplomas, academic records, ranking evidence, recommendations, passport, CV and career plan; doctoral applicants need a thesis proposal. Name the exact master’s mention and parcours. Poitiers decides whether to nominate you to Campus France.
  2. SuCat: submit the English application. Use the form linked on the official SuCat application page. Upload degree/enrolment evidence, transcripts with grading scale, a two-page European-format CV, passport/eligible ID, one-page motivation letter, two recommendations dated 2026/2027 and English evidence. Review the funding and participation costs before accepting an offer.
  3. IntREE: arrange the research placement first. Develop a project with your home team and Poitiers host. Download the incoming mobility form from the IntREE master’s page and email it to [email protected] with your CV, motivation letter, latest diploma and supervisor’s acceptance letter.

My recommendation is to prioritise Eiffel’s faculty contact now: its short remaining window makes programme support more urgent than polishing an application for a later deadline.

04Which mistakes could derail your application?

Avoid duplicate Eiffel nominations and incomplete SuCat files. Eiffel submissions through multiple institutions can invalidate your candidacy. SuCat rejects incomplete applications and documents that breach its limits. Neither an admission offer nor a university nomination guarantees a scholarship.

05Questions before you commit

Can I send Eiffel directly to Campus France?

No. A French institution must support and submit your nomination. The national deadline belongs to institutions, not individual applicants.

Can a final-year undergraduate apply to SuCat?

Yes, with enrolment and expected-graduation evidence. You must complete your qualifying degree before the programme begins.

Does an existing master’s degree prevent SuCat admission?

No. The current call welcomes applicants who already hold a master’s; that qualification alone neither advantages nor disadvantages the application.

06When must Poitiers receive your application?

The main University of Poitiers Eiffel deadline is 20 November 2026 at noon, French time. Its detailed application page lists 23 November at midnight for several faculties, creating an official inconsistency. I recommend submitting by the earlier deadline unless your faculty confirms otherwise.

The last date to apply for the SuCat 2027–2029 master’s is 19 February 2027 at 23:59 Brussels time. Applications opened on 23 October 2026.

IntREE incoming M2 internship applications are accepted year-round, subject to an agreed project and funding approval.

Campus France’s Eiffel institutional deadline is 6 January 2027, with results expected during the week of 12 April 2027. This January date does not extend Poitiers’ student deadline.
