For this High-Level Postgraduate Programme, your first practical task is finding an FJNU supervisor willing to accept you. 01 Who can apply, and what should you prepare?

You must be a non-Chinese citizen with strong academic results, good health and no criminal record. Master’s applicants need a bachelor’s degree and must be no older than 35; doctoral applicants need a master’s degree and must be no older than 40.

Chinese-taught applicants need valid HSK Level 5 with at least 180 points. English-taught applicants need valid IELTS/TOEFL results or exemption evidence. With that route established, prepare these documents before submitting:

Document group What FJNU requires
Identity and education Passport valid beyond September 2027; notarized highest diploma; stamped transcripts from undergraduate study onward.
Academic support Two recommendations from professors or associate professors, plus the FJNU supervisor acceptance letter.
Study plan Chinese or English: over 1,000 Chinese characters or English words. PhD plans require the Chinese supervisor’s signature.
Health and conduct English-completed physical examination form, valid for six months; police clearance usually issued within six months before submission. Art/design applicants also provide a portfolio.

02 How to apply for the FJNU CSC Scholarship 2027

Complete both CSC submission and the university email stage. Keep a complete copy of the same documents so the two submissions remain consistent.

  1. Choose your FJNU programme. Open the official 2027 scholarship notice and use CSC’s programme listings to identify the degree and teaching language. Match these with your academic preparation before approaching a supervisor.
  2. Secure supervisor acceptance. Use the acceptance-letter template attached to the notice. I recommend a focused email explaining your research fit, with a concise CV and proposed topic; our professor-email examples can help you structure that request.
  3. Prepare the document package. Assemble the checklist above and your language evidence. Provide notarized Chinese or English translations of documents in other languages. Use our China scholarship study-plan guide to connect your background, proposed work and future goals; FJNU’s length and signature rules take priority.
  4. Submit through CSC. At Campus China, enter “Scholarship Application for Students”, register and complete your personal details. Select Type B and agency number 10394; verify that Fujian Normal University appears. Complete the application, upload clear scans, submit and download the generated application form.
  5. Email FJNU after submitting. Package the application form and all required electronic documents and send them to [email protected]. Use the subject “Your Name + CSC High-level Graduate Program Application”. The university explicitly requires this email in addition to CSC submission.
  6. Follow the review through to CSC. FJNU emails interview arrangements to applicants who pass document review; the interview assesses overall qualities and language ability. If FJNU issues a university pre-admission notice, upload it promptly to CSC. This later notice is separate from your initial supervisor letter; final approval rests with CSC.

03 FJNU application questions

Can final-year students apply to FJNU?

Yes. Prospective graduates may submit official expected-graduation or student-status evidence from their current institution. Prepare that document alongside your latest transcripts.

Can I apply without IELTS or TOEFL?

Yes, if you meet FJNU’s English-language exemption: English is your native or an official language, or your previous degree was taught in English. Upload evidence supporting the exemption; choosing an English-taught programme alone does not qualify you.

Can I submit several CSC Type B applications?

No. The CSC instructions attached to FJNU’s notice permit one Type B application per academic year. I would settle your programme and supervisor fit before committing that application to FJNU.
