The Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships are designed to identify and support 100 of India’s most promising postgraduate students. These scholarships are not just about financial aid; they are about creating a cohort of future leaders who can think big, think green, and think digital for the benefit of society.
As digital technology in India has evolved from a means of entertainment to a platform for empowerment, there is a growing need for skilled professionals who can harness these technologies to drive India’s growth. By 2025, India is expected to require 22 million workers with 5G-related skills, alongside experts in renewable energy and biotechnology. The Reliance Foundation is committed to supporting students who are ready to meet these challenges head-on.
Scholarship Features and Benefits
The Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships offer a range of benefits designed to support students both financially and professionally:
- Generous Financial Support: Up to ₹6 Lakhs is available for each scholar over the duration of their degree program. This includes 80% of the funds granted at the start of each academic year to cover tuition and direct academic expenses, with the remaining 20% available upon request to support professional development, such as conference expenses and personal growth opportunities.
- Holistic Development Program: Scholars will have access to a range of engagement and development activities. This includes expert talks, workshops with global leaders, mentoring and internship opportunities, volunteering, and a strong alumni network. This program is designed to create a vibrant community of scholars who are at the forefront of building a new India.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships, applicants must:
- Be in the first year of a full-time postgraduate degree program in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics & Computing, Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable & New Energy, Material Science & Engineering, and Life Sciences.
- Have secured a GATE score between 550 and 1,000, or if they haven’t attempted GATE, have a CGPA of 7.5 or above in their undergraduate studies.
Note: Students in the second year of their postgraduate program, those pursuing degrees through non-regular modes (online, distance, part-time, etc.), or those who do not meet the minimum GATE score or CGPA requirements are not eligible to apply.
Application and Selection Process
The application process for the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships 2025 is designed to be rigorous, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates are selected. Here’s how it works:
- Eligibility Questionnaire: Interested students must first complete an eligibility questionnaire on the Reliance Foundation’s website here https://scholarships.reliancefoundation.org/PG_Scholarship.aspx. Successful candidates will receive log-in details to proceed with the application.
- Application Form: Candidates will need to submit detailed personal, academic, and extracurricular information through the application portal. This includes two letters of reference (one academic and one character/leadership), a personal statement, and a statement of purpose.
- Aptitude Test: All applicants must complete an online aptitude test consisting of 60 multiple-choice questions. The test assesses verbal ability, analytical and logical reasoning, and numerical ability.
- Evaluation and Interviews: Applications will be reviewed by an expert panel of industry leaders, academicians, and professionals. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to virtual interviews, with preparatory webinars provided to help candidates prepare.
- Final Selection: Up to 100 scholars will be selected based on merit, with the final announcement made after the interview stage.
