Brighter Living Foundation Scholarship 2024 for Young Students

The Brighter Living Foundation is delighted to offer an exceptional opportunity for young leaders through its scholarship for the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada. This initiative seeks to support four young entrepreneurs from Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region who are making significant contributions in the fields of Climate & Nature, Nutrition & Health, and Social impact.

Who Can Apply?

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Residence: Candidates should reside in Africa, Latin America, or the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years experience in the agri-food or beauty business, preferably running their own business.
  • Impact: Applicants must demonstrate a positive impact in one of the scholarship’s focus areas.
  • Travel: Must be available to travel to Canada for the summit and participate in the related pre and post-summit programs from September 15 to September 23, 2024.

Brighter Scholarship Benefits

Successful candidates will receive:

  • Full access to the One Young World Summit from September 18-21, 2024.
  • Participation in the Brighter Living Foundation’s pre-summit and post-Summit programs.
  • Hotel accommodation in Montréal for the duration of the summit.
  • Catering throughout the event.
  • Return air travel.
  • Permanent membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community.

Focus Areas of the Scholarship

  • Climate & Nature: Applicants should be actively reducing the environmental footprint of the agri-food or beauty product sectors. This can include advocating for systemic changes, reducing emissions, or producing locally and sustainably.
  • Nutrition & Health: This area focuses on increasing the availability of nutritious and affordable foods in low and middle-income countries. Efforts can involve raising awareness about healthy diets, developing responsible food brands, or local sustainable production.
  • Social Impact: Candidates should be improving the livelihoods of small holder farmers or others in the food and beauty product supply chains. This includes advocating for equitable livelihoods, ensuring fair incomes, and promoting safe working conditions.

The deadline for application submission for this Brighter scholarship is May 6, 2024.
