The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) announces its International Summer School, “Global Change and Ecological Health,” scheduled for July 18-27, 2024, in Beijing. This initiative, led by the Sino-Danish College, aims to tackle the pressing issues of climate change and ecological sustainability.

The summer school, a collaboration among various UCAS institutes and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), offers a ten-day curriculum at the scenic locations near the Great Wall and Yanqi Lake. The program is designed for international students specializing in ecology, geography, biology, chemistry, and related disciplines.

The program is supported by the CAS-ANSO Scholarship Non-Degree Program, covering travel, tuition, insurance, accommodation, and meals. Participants will receive a graduation certificate and potentially a scholarship recommendation.

Who Should Apply?

The program seeks 30-45 international students from renowned universities worldwide, particularly those with a strong foundation in environmental and ecological sciences. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens under 35 years old and fluent in English.

Curriculum and Learning Outcomes

Participants will interact with experts in global change and ecological health, and engage in field visits to places like Huairou Science City. The curriculum will cover:

Application Process

The last date to submit your application for UCAS summer school program is May 31, 2024. Required materials include a passport copy, recent photo, academic transcripts, and proof of English proficiency, to be submitted through UCAS’s Online Application System.
