UNESCO/Poland Archaeology & Conservation Fellowship 2025
If you’re passionate about preserving human history and want to learn from one of Europe’s most respected archaeology programs, here’s a golden opportunity! The UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships in Archaeology and Conservation 2025–2026 are now officially open for applications.
Sponsorship of Fellowship
The Polish authorities will provide full tuition coverage for the entire 9-month fellowship and grant access to university facilities. In addition, fellows will receive a monthly stipend of PLN 2,200 if they hold a Master’s degree, or PLN 1,800 if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, to cover living and accommodation expenses in Poland. Upon arrival, fellows will also receive a one-time allowance of PLN 2,200 (for M.A. holders) or PLN 1,800 (for B.A. holders) to support participation in cultural, historical, or academic activities during their stay in Poznań.
On the other hand, UNESCO will cover international round-trip airfare from the fellow’s home country to Poland and back, provide comprehensive health insurance for the full duration of the fellowship, and offer a one-time special pocket allowance of US$120 to help cover incidental personal expenses.
Who Can Apply?
Citizens of the following 24 countries are eligible: Ghana, Sudan, Iran, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Georgia, Tanzania, Cape Verde, Uzbekistan, Mauritius, Senegal, Ecuador, Iraq, Uganda, Cameroon, Ukraine, Algeria, Cuba, Peru, Mongolia, Moldova, Jamaica, South Africa.
Applicants must:
- Be no older than 40 years by the time of application.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably in archaeology or conservation).
- Be proficient in English (written and spoken).
What Will You Study?
The selected fellows will participate in an interdisciplinary curriculum including:
- A main course: New multidisciplinary methods in archaeological practice.
- Supplementary modules at the Faculty of Archaeology, Adam Mickiewicz University.
