UniTo for Students at Risk Fully-funded Scholarships 2025-2026 in Italy

The University of Turin (UniTo) has launched a powerful academic lifeline for students facing displacement and protection challenges — the “UniTo for Students at Risk” Scholarships. This initiative offers not just funding, but a comprehensive support package to help students at risk successfully integrate into Italy’s academic, cultural, and social life.


What’s on Offer?

Each of these Italian scholarship is worth €11,000 (gross) per academic year and includes:

  • Orientation and social inclusion support
  • Enrolment assistance
  • Cultural mediation and psychological services
  • Tutoring
  • Special accommodations for students with disabilities or learning disorders
  • CUS Torino sports membership for access to sports facilities

Scholarship Allocation

The University of Turin has announced that, under the 2025–2026 “UniTo for Students at Risk” program, a total of ten scholarships will be awarded, with four designated for undergraduate programs and six for postgraduate programs.

The undergraduate awards, open to three-year, free-admission courses, include Global Law and Transnational Legal Studies (English), Economics and Finance with Data Science (English), Languages and Modern Cultures for Tourism (Italian), and Modern Languages and Literatures (Italian). The remaining six scholarships will support students enrolling in postgraduate degree programs with free admission, taught either in Italian or English.


Who Can Apply?

You’re eligible if you:

  • Were born after 1 January 1997
  • Hold a residence permit for asylum/refugee status, subsidiary protection, special protection, temporary protection (Ukraine), or other forms of protection issued in Italy from 2019
  • Possess a foreign qualification eligible for enrolment at UniTo in AY 2025/26
  • Submitted an Apply@UniTo application by the standard deadlines (or between 21 August–4 September 2025 for late submission cases)
  • Meet the language requirements (minimum B1 in the language of instruction)

Not eligible: Students transferring from other Italian universities or changing courses within UniTo.

  1. Complete Apply@UniTo application for your chosen degree program.
  2. Submit scholarship application: https://en.unito.it/studying-unito/scholarships-international-students
  3. Attach documents:
    1. Passport ID page
    2. Residence permit or proof of protection status
    3. Motivation letter (in program’s language)
    4. CV with cover letter
    5. SOP
    6. Education documents + translations (or EQPR)
    7. Language self-certification or official certificate (min. B1)
