A six-month United Nations internship has opened in Geneva for students and recent graduates interested in international relations, development, communications and global partnerships—and previous professional experience is not mandatory.

What Will the Partnerships Intern Do?
The intern will help UNOPS Geneva prepare for and participate in major global events while supporting communications and partnership activities.
Responsibilities include researching relevant events, maintaining calendars and trackers, coordinating delegation planning, assisting with side-event applications and helping organize logistics before and after events.
The intern may also prepare internal guidance, research material for briefs and statements, and content supporting the visibility of UNOPS Geneva programmes across corporate websites, intranet pages and social-media channels.
This is therefore not a technical engineering internship. It is better suited to applicants interested in diplomacy, sustainable development, international organizations, event coordination, communications or stakeholder management.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be currently enrolled in—or have completed within the three years preceding the application date—a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in:
- Development studies;
- Political science;
- International relations;
- Another closely related subject.
No previous work experience is compulsory. However, one year of experience in business development, communications or partnerships would strengthen an application. UNOPS also considers report-writing ability, computer literacy, research skills and familiarity with Google Workspace or web-based systems desirable.
Fluent English is mandatory, but the vacancy does not prescribe an IELTS, TOEFL or other test score. Intermediate French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese or Russian is desirable rather than compulsory.
