USTC Undergraduate Fellowship 2025 | Fully Funded Opportunity for International Students
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is now accepting applications for its prestigious Undergraduate Fellowship Program for the 2025 intake. This fellowship offers two funding levels and is designed to support talented students from around the world who aim to pursue their undergraduate studies at one of China’s top universities.
USTC Undergrad Fellowship for Bachelors Degree Benefits
The USTC Undergraduate Fellowship comes in two levels, with benefits tailored to ensure financial support for students throughout their studies:
- Level A: Funded by USTC, this level includes a tuition waiver, comprehensive medical insurance, a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and an accommodation subsidy.
- Level B: Also funded by USTC, Level B covers a tuition waiver only.
Applicants can apply for either one or both levels, but only one level will ultimately be granted based on the applicant’s comprehensive evaluation by USTC. Successful applicants may only receive one scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the USTC Undergraduate Fellowship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport and be in good physical and mental health.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must have passed the new HSK Level 5 or higher. Native Chinese speakers or those who studied in a high school where Chinese was the language of instruction may apply for an HSK exemption.
- Citizenship Requirements for Former Chinese Nationals: Those emigrating from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan must have acquired foreign citizenship before April 30, 2021, and have resided abroad for at least two years from April 2021 to April 2025.
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must hold a high school diploma (or equivalent to the Chinese high school diploma) by July 2025.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be under 30 by September 1, 2025.
- Exclusivity: Applicants with other Chinese scholarships or funds for the 2025-2026 academic year are not eligible for this fellowship.
Application Process
Interested students should apply through the USTC Online Application System (https://ic.ustc.edu.cn/en/v7info.php?Nav_x=17) between October 20, 2024, and March 31, 2025. The application steps are as follows:
Required Documents
Applicants will need to submit the following documents:
- Application Form for International Students (Undergraduate Program).
- Passport Photocopy (including pages with any relevant Chinese visa or residence permit).
- High School Diploma and Transcripts: Notarized photocopies. Graduating students should provide a pre-graduation certificate, with original certificates required upon registration.
- HSK Certificate or Proof of Chinese High School Education.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
- High School Recommendation Letter.
- Guardian Statement (for applicants under 18).
- Additional Documents for Former Chinese Nationals: Including an immigration certificate, proof of citizenship cancellation, and residency proof from April 2021 to March 2025.
