Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU) offers an incredible opportunity for newly admitted students through its various scholarship programs for the Fall 2024 semester. If you’re aiming to kickstart your academic journey with some financial backing, here’s everything you need to know about securing a scholarship at WVPU.

Who Can Apply?

The scholarship window for the Fall 2024 intake will close on May 31, 2024, at 13:00 CET. Webster Vienna encourages all newly admitted undergraduate (bachelor’s) and graduate (master’s) degree students who have shown exceptional academic achievements and demonstrated financial need to apply. To be eligible, applicants must have:

  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on the American 4-point scale.
  • Advanced or native-level proficiency in English.
  • Been admitted to full bachelor’s or master’s degree programs (excluding certificate and English preparation programs).

Scholarship Tiers and Benefits

Webster Vienna offers three levels of scholarships each academic year, catering to different achievements and needs:

  1. Distinction Level:
    • For Master’s: €8,000 per academic year.
    • For Bachelor’s: €12,000 per academic year.
    • Requirements: Minimum 3.5 GPA, C1 English proficiency, significant financial need, excellent essay and recommendations.
  2. Merit Level:
    • For Master’s: €5,000 per academic year.
    • For Bachelor’s: €7,000 per academic year.
    • Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA, B2 English proficiency, significant financial need, strong essay and recommendations.
  3. Honors Level:
    • For Master’s: €3,000 per academic year.
    • For Bachelor’s: €4,000 per academic year.
    • Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA, B2 English proficiency, financial need, good essay and recommendations.

Renewal Conditions: Scholarships can be renewed throughout the duration of the degree program if recipients maintain full-time status and a GPA of 3.0 each semester.

Application Process

Applicants must first secure admission to a degree program. After admission, the following documents are needed for the scholarship application as per this page (https://www.webster.ac.at/financialinformation/financialaid.php):

  • Acceptance letter.
  • Financial motivation letter detailing your financial situation and need for the scholarship.
  • Official financial documents (in English or translated) showing net earnings, excluding bank statements.
  • An original essay (1,000 to 1,200 words) on one of the provided topics.
