University of Orléans France Scholarships 2027 for MS Admissions for International Students
Only two master’s programmes on the University of Orléans’ Eiffel list are taught entirely in English. Its 2027–2028 scholarship campaign is open in France, offering international postgraduate applicants a chance to pursue their studies with French government support. For applicants choosing a French-taught course, B2 French is essential.
Perhaps you want to study international economics, develop a career in international business or take a research question into a doctorate. Which route fits your background, and how do you secure the university’s support? This guide explains the course choices, funding and application steps, including an unresolved date issue for doctoral applicants.

01 Which Orléans programme could you study?
Orléans offers more than an English-language route. Its eligible list spans law, economics, computing, mathematics, chemistry, life sciences, environment, humanities and engineering. Your teaching language helps narrow that choice before you begin the paperwork.
| Programme choice | Entry shown on the eligible list | Teaching language |
|---|---|---|
| International Economics | M1 and M2 | English |
| Languages, Business and International Management | M1 and M2 | English |
| Other listed master’s and engineering programmes | Depends on the named course | French; B2 proof required |
M1 is the first master’s year; M2 is the second. Entry depends on your previous qualifications. I would choose the course whose content builds on your strongest academic work, then explain that connection in your career plan. A clear reason for choosing Orléans will give your application more substance than general enthusiasm for studying abroad.
02 Who can seek an Orléans Eiffel nomination?
Eiffel is for foreign nationals; holding French nationality alongside another nationality excludes you. For the 2027 selection, master’s applicants must be born after 31 March 1997, and doctoral applicants after 31 March 1991.
Orléans accepts master’s candidates currently studying abroad, rather than students already enrolled in France. Doctoral applicants abroad receive priority, although some candidates already in France may qualify. An existing French government scholarship can also make you ineligible; Eiffel cannot be combined with Erasmus+ or an AUF scholarship.
You need the university to support your candidacy before it reaches national selection. Our Eiffel eligibility and nomination guide explains that relationship. Compare the French host universities and their Eiffel deadlines before choosing your host: Orléans explicitly rejects multiple-institution Eiffel applications.
03 What would Eiffel cover at Orléans?
The current regulations provide €1,200 per month for master’s-level recipients and €2,000 for doctoral recipients. They also provide travel, insurance, housing-search assistance and access to cultural activities under programme conditions. Housing assistance helps you find somewhere to live; you still need a rent budget.
Maximum master’s support is 24 months for entry into M1 or 12 months for M2; eligible engineering study can receive up to 36 months. Doctoral awards run for 12, 18 or 36 months according to the applicable research arrangement and stage.
Eiffel does not pay programme tuition charges. French government scholarship holders receive the relevant registration-fee exemption for qualifying national degrees and recognised engineering diplomas at public institutions. Other charges are not automatically covered. I would establish the remaining course fees and housing costs before treating the monthly allowance as your complete budget.
04 Prepare the Orléans master’s document pack
Your academic results and career plan need to tell the same story: what you have studied, what you want to learn at Orléans and how you intend to use it. The initial master’s pack contains:
- Your CV and a cover letter describing your professional project.
- Transcripts for the last three years, with official translations where necessary.
- Official cohort-ranking evidence for at least the most recent year; rankings for earlier years are encouraged.
- B2 French evidence if your selected programme is taught in French.
You also complete the university’s separate application form. Use our Eiffel document preparation checklist to organise your work, while following Orléans’ own requirements for this submission. If your institution does not issue rankings, seek an accepted alternative from the Eiffel office rather than estimating a rank yourself.
05 How to apply for Eiffel through Orléans
Follow the official Orléans Eiffel procedure and the 2027–2028 eligible programme list. The university also supplies the current Eiffel regulations; the Campus France 2027 call explains the institution-led national submission stage.
- Choose your exact course and entry year. Use the published programme name and establish whether you are seeking M1 or M2 entry.
- Assemble the supporting PDF. Combine the master’s evidence above and name it LAST NAME_First Name_Justificatifs-M-Eiffel-UO.pdf, replacing the name placeholders.
- Complete the university form. Download NOM_Prenom_formulaire_EIFFEL.docx and complete every field.
- Email both documents together. Send the PDF and completed form to [email protected]. Use the subject: Candidature LAST NAME First Name Bourse Eiffel UO.
- Follow the university’s decision. Complete applications receive academic review. If supported, you receive instructions for completing the full Eiffel dossier; university support does not guarantee the national award.
For a doctorate, begin with a research supervisor. Use the Orléans research teams to identify a suitable host. The supporting supervisor contacts the Eiffel office. The page publishes conflicting doctoral dates, addressed in the timeline below.
If you also want admission without Eiffel funding, follow the separate international admission procedure within your course’s application window.
06 Avoid the mistakes that stop an Orléans application
Send the master’s dossier to the Eiffel office, not directly to Campus France or the course director. Incomplete files are not examined. Missing B2 evidence rules out consideration for the French-taught courses, and multiple-institution Eiffel applications risk rejection.
07 Orléans Eiffel questions before you submit
Does an English-taught course mean I can skip language evidence?
The call does not establish a blanket English-test waiver. Follow the selected programme’s language requirements; the B2 French condition applies to the French-taught options.
Does every PhD applicant receive three years of support?
No. The 36-month route is for eligible newcomers entering the first doctoral year. The shorter routes depend on the research stage and international joint-supervision arrangement.
Can I use a previous Eiffel application again?
Declare any earlier Eiffel nomination or award to the university before proceeding. Prior applications affect eligibility, and a previous master’s award does not automatically settle eligibility for doctoral funding.
08 Orléans Eiffel Scholarship deadline
Master’s deadline: 13 November 2026 at 23:59, UTC+1. University of Orléans also states that no application is accepted after this campaign cutoff. However, its doctoral instructions separately give 4 December 2026 for finding a first-year PhD supervisor. These dates conflict: doctoral applicants should obtain a written deadline decision from [email protected] promptly, rather than rely on December. National results are expected from 12 April 2027.
