University of Birmingham DeepMind Scholarship 2024

The School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham is proud to announce the availability of two prestigious DeepMind Scholarships. These scholarships, funded by DeepMind, aim to support students pursuing the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the UK Edgbaston campus. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance diversity and accessibility in computer science, particularly for underrepresented groups.

Scholarship Value of Award £34,225

  • UK tuition fees: £11,340
  • Maintenance grant: £18,985 (paid in installments over the course duration)
  • Conference funding: Up to £2,200 for an international AI/ML conference
  • Equipment grant: £1,700 for essential equipment (e.g., laptop)

International Scholarship: £56,525

  • International tuition fees: £31,410
  • Maintenance grant: £19,345 (paid in installments over the course duration)
  • Conference funding: Up to £2,200 for an international AI/ML conference
  • Equipment grant: £1,700 for essential equipment (e.g., laptop)
  • Relocation assistance: £1,870

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the DeepMind Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Identify as female.
  2. Demonstrate financial need, showing that they would be unable to pursue the course without financial assistance.
  3. Have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham.
  4. Be classified either as a UK resident for fee-paying purposes or as an international student.

Application Process and Deadlines

International Applicants:

  • Application deadline: Sunday, 21st July 2024
  • Interviews: End of July 2024

UK Applicants:

  • Application deadline: Sunday, 18th August 2024
  • Interviews: End of August 2024
