Maxwell Scholarship Benefits
The MKS offers a comprehensive package to support PhD students:
- Living Allowance (Stipend): $50,291 per annum (2024 rate)
- Research Allowance: To support the research activities of the student
- Relocation Allowance: Provided to eligible students who need to move for their studies
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the MKS, you must meet the following requirements:
Citizenship Requirements: You must be one of the following:
- An international student
- An Australian citizen
- An Australian permanent resident
- A New Zealand citizen
- An Australian humanitarian visa holder
Academic Requirements
- You must have submitted a scholarship application in the current year.

Additionally, this scholarship is available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution.
Number of Scholarships: Each year, two scholarships are offered:
- One for a student in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) disciplines.
- One for a student in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
