The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarships are a beacon of opportunity for international students who aspire to advance their studies in global development. This prestigious scholarship is available to students who are enrolling in a full-time one-year Master’s course at the School of Global Development at the University of East Anglia (UEA).
Scholarship Benefits
Each successful candidate will receive comprehensive funding that covers international tuition fees, along with a maintenance grant totaling £18,256.33. This generous grant aims to alleviate the financial burdens associated with living, traveling, and visa costs, ensuring that students can focus fully on their studies.
Scope of Funding The total value of the scholarship reaches approximately £39,456.33, with tuition fees costing £21,200 and the remainder allocated as a grant. Annually, three scholarships are awarded to deserving candidates.
Eligibility and Requirements
The scholarship targets students from low-income countries as classified by the United Nations Human Development Index Report of 2020. Eligible applicants must be nationals or permanent residents of one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Angola, Benin, and many others across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.
Courses Covered: The scholarship caters to a variety of courses under the umbrella of global development, including:
- MA Conflict, Governance and Global Development
- MSc Climate Change and Global Development
- MA Global Social Development, among others.
