The College of General Studies at the University of Pittsburgh is excited to announce the opening of applications for the CGS Summer 2024 Internship Scholarships. These scholarships aim to support students who are eager to gain professional experience through internships but face financial and time constraints, especially when these opportunities are unpaid or require payment of college tuition.

Internship Scholarship Details

Up to five scholarships will be awarded for the summer 2024 semester. Each scholarship will cover the tuition and fees for a three-credit internship, providing significant financial relief for the selected students.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the CGS Summer 2024 Internship Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Internship Credits: Applicants must be registered for 3 internship credits in LCJS, CGS, NPHS, or PUBSRV 1900.
  2. Degree Program: Applicants must be enrolled in a CGS bachelor’s degree program.
  3. Tuition Remission: Applicants must not be eligible for tuition remission.
  4. Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a FAFSA on file with the University of Pittsburgh.
  5. Academic Standing: Applicants must demonstrate good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

As part of the application process, you will need to upload a signed copy of your internship agreement and a brief essay. This essay should detail how your internship experience, combined with your CGS degree, will help you achieve your academic and career goals.

Application Deadline: The final deadline for submissions is May 31st, 2024. Students are encouraged to apply early to increase their chances of securing a scholarship.
