English Tests Accepted by Canada for Citizenship, Jobs, and Scholarship

As an overseas applicant for Canadian citizenship, jobs, scholarships, or admissions the first thing that you will be asked for would be the level of English language proficiency that you have acquired and on the basis of that you will actually be considered for job, scholarship, or university admission in Canada.

Even if you are applying for a Canadian citizenship or immigration then in that case you will be asked by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) department to provide an evidence of your English language abilities whereas if you fail to convince them about your fair level of English language proficiency then your application may be ignored.

And as you know that IELTS exam is one of the widely accepted English language proficiency test in all over Canada but the problem is that it is super expensive and difficult. So this is why i found space for this article to be created in order to provide you the details on how you can avoid taking expensive and difficult IELTS exam while applying for jobs in Canada or for admissions at any Canadian University.

English language Proficiency Letter Accepted in Canada?

Now lets first start by getting familiar with an English language proficiency certificate which is basically a formal document issued mostly by the registrar or academic branch or department of your last attended University/college and this letter certifies that the degree you obtained from that educational institution was taught in English language only.

And now the question is if Canada actually accepts this letter or still demands for IELTS or other IELTS alternative English tests so the answer is simple if you are applying for a job in Canada then employer may not require your English language proficiency test but the Canadian immigration department will ask for it and they will actually not consider English language proficiency certificate.

And if you are applying for a scholarship or admission in Canada then maybe some of the Universities may accept English language proficiency test but when you will apply for Canadian study VISA then you will get stuck in a big problem because Canadian immigration department has made is a mandatory requirement for all overseas students to provide IELTS academic score of atleast 6 bands otherwise their study VISA applications for Canada will not be accepted.

Lets now get factual information about which of the English tests you can take for the purpose of submitting your application for Canadian VISA, work permit, citizenship, or residence permit and for that your first option is IELTS academic/general module test but if you can not take this then Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) also accepts Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP General Module) test (Source Canada.ca).

Now i have got some verified information for those looking to get admission at Canadian Universities because all international students will be required to provide evidence of their English language skills and for that purpose, Canadian universities actually accepts Pearson tests of English (PTE), TOEFL, Duolingo, Cambridge assessment tests, CAEL, CanTEST, AEPUCE, CELPIP or IELTS English language tests but my recommendation for you is to take IELTS or CELPIP test because when you will apply for Canadian Study VISA then only these two English language tests will be accepted by Canadian embassy.
