Jilin University International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship 2024

In response to the global demand for qualified Chinese language teachers and to promote Chinese language education worldwide, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) is offering the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship for 2024.

This initiative is aimed at supporting current and aspiring Chinese language educators to further their studies in China, with Jilin University (JLU) serving as one of the host institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
• Candidates should demonstrate a friendly attitude towards China, have no criminal record, and comply with both Chinese laws and the host institution’s regulations.
• Applicants must be in good health and standing academically and behaviorally.
• An interest in Chinese language education and related fields is required.
• Applicants should be between 16 and 35 years old as of September 1, 2024. Current Chinese language teachers can be up to 45 years old. However, those applying for Bachelor’s degree scholarships should be under 25.

Scholarship Categories and Qualifications

1# Chinese Language Teacher Scholarships:

• • Master’s Degree: For those holding a Bachelor’s degree with specific HSK and HSKK test scores. Priority goes to applicants with a job offer from a teaching institution post-studies.
  • One-Year Study Program: For various specializations, requiring certain HSK and HSKK test scores.
  • One-Semester Study Program: Available for multiple disciplines with HSK and HSKK score requirements.
  • Four-Week Study Program: Focuses on Chinese language study and culture with group applications encouraged.

2# Online Program Scholarships:

• • One-Year and One-Semester Programs: Available with different HSK score requirements.
  • Special Online Study Program: Specific requirements are to be confirmed directly with JLU.

Application Process

Applications open on March 1, 2024, via the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website. Applicants need to search for recommending institutions and host institutions, submit their materials online, and track their application status. Deadlines vary based on the program start date.

Special Policies:

• • In-Service Chinese Language Teachers: Those currently teaching have priority if they can provide employment proof and a recommendation letter.
  • Chinese Bridge Winners: Can apply directly with their scholarship certificates.
