Abu Dhabi’s Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) has announced its Undergraduate Research Internship Program (UGRIP) Summer 2025, offering a transformative opportunity for students keen on advancing their careers in AI research. Running from June 9 to July 4, 2025, the program is hosted at MBZUAI’s state-of-the-art campus in Masdar City, a hub for innovation and sustainability.

What’s in Package?

UGRIP invites top-performing undergraduate students from around the globe to dive into cutting-edge AI research areas like Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Participants will work on real-world challenges, such as anomaly detection, speech recognition, and AI model optimization, guided by MBZUAI’s world-class faculty and graduate researchers.

Beyond the labs, interns will explore the UAE’s vibrant culture with activities and trips to Abu Dhabi and Dubai—all expenses covered.

Selected interns will receive:

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to 3rd- and 4rth-year undergraduates in STEM-related majors with:

  • A minimum CGPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • An official university enrollment letter
  • A transcript showing academic excellence
  • A compelling Statement of Purpose (400 words)
  • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS Academic 6.5, or equivalent)
  • A passport valid for at least one year

Applications Opening and Closing Dates

  • Applications Open: January 1, 2025
  • Deadline: February 28, 2025
  • Decision Notification: April 1, 2025
