NHR Graduate School in Germany Offering 9 Fully Funded PhD Scholarships in 2025

Are you passionate about supercomputing, numerical simulation, or AI/ML? The National High-Performance Computing (NHR) Graduate School in Germany is now accepting applications for its 5th cohort of Ph.D. scholars. This is your chance to be part of a cutting-edge research ecosystem with nine of Germany’s top HPC centers and universities!


Program Overview

The NHR Graduate School is offering 9 fully funded Ph.D. scholarship positions to talented researchers eager to work on High-Performance Computing (HPC), Numerical Simulations, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) projects. Scholars will be hosted at one of the prestigious universities or research institutes that form the NHR Alliance in Germany.

  • Type: Full-time Ph.D. positions
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Starting Date: April 1, 2026
  • Working Languages: English and/or German
  • Location: Onsite in Berlin or at an NHR Alliance partner institution.

NHR Scholarship Benefits

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must hold a relevant Master’s degree (or equivalent) in one of the following areas:

Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in high-performance computing and interdisciplinary research.
