Why You Should Apply: The Benefits
Let’s talk perks! These scholarships are not just about financial support—they’re about creating a vibrant, supportive pathway to success in Indigenous research. Here’s what’s in store for you:
- Generous Stipend: Receive over $50,000 per annum for 3.5 years if you’re pursuing a PhD, or 2 years if you’re going for a Masters of Research (MRes). That’s right—a healthy financial cushion to focus entirely on your research without worrying about bills and expenses.
- Tailored Supervision: You’ll get the chance to work with experienced Aboriginal researchers who will guide you through your research journey. Their expertise will help shape your project and ensure it aligns with your goals and the needs of your community.
- Skill-Development Workshops: Beyond research, you’ll have access to ongoing workshops that will sharpen your skills, making you an even stronger researcher and leader in your field.
- Research Topics that Matter: Your research can cover a wide range of topics, from Aboriginal biographies and histories to health, law, social or economic development, land, sea, and cultural resource management. The best part? You’ll be contributing to knowledge that directly benefits Aboriginal communities.
