Sejong University Scholarships 2027: Bachelor’s Admissions to Study for Free in Korea
Sejong University’s Spring 2027 scholarships are available through its open international undergraduate admissions round in South Korea. For a student ready to begin a bachelor’s degree, the useful question is how much tuition support matches the language evidence already in hand.
The university offers English and Korean study routes, with subjects spanning business, computing, engineering, humanities and the arts. Its entry awards can make the opening semester more affordable, but the funding period matters as much as the headline percentage.
Which award fits you, and how does scholarship consideration connect to admission? This guide helps you compare the routes, prepare the evidence and follow Sejong’s application sequence.
01 What do Sejong’s international scholarships cover?
Sejong International Scholarship A reduces first-semester tuition according to language scores. Use the comparison below to identify your starting award; TOEFL iBT and New TEPS alternatives are also accepted for the English route.
| Study track | Language score | First-semester reduction |
|---|---|---|
| English | IELTS 8.0 | 80% |
| English | IELTS 6.5 | 50% |
| English | IELTS 5.5 | 30% |
| Korean | TOPIK 6 | 100% |
| Korean | TOPIK 5 | 70% |
| Korean | TOPIK 4 | 50% |
| Korean | TOPIK 3 | 30% |
Sejong International Scholarship B serves eligible Sejong Language Center completers: two, three or at least four semesters bring KRW 500,000, KRW 750,000 or KRW 1,000,000 respectively. Selected Sejong Prep Course students completing at least two language semesters at the required level receive full first-semester tuition and an admission-fee waiver.
These freshmen awards exclude transfer entrants. A and B can combine up to tuition. Later, the Sejong International Scholarship Outstanding Academic offers 20%–50% tuition support with GPA 3.0+ and the required credits.
Living costs, travel and accommodation are separate. The guide also requires deposit verification of at least KRW 20 million, USD 16,000 or RMB 110,000, subject to its document rules. A tuition reduction should not be treated as an automatic exemption from financial evidence.
My recommendation is to build your degree budget around funding you can already document. A generous entry award is helpful, but future academic results should remain an opportunity to improve that budget rather than the only way to sustain it.

02 Which Sejong undergraduate route can you enter?
Freshman applicants need qualifying secondary education and non-Korean nationality for themselves and both parents. Admission and scholarship eligibility are separate decisions; meeting a language-award threshold does not establish that your school qualification is acceptable.
English-track choices include business administration, economics, hospitality and tourism, public administration, media and communication, computer science, and comics and animation. Choose the teaching language you can study in comfortably, then compare the curriculum with the skills you want to develop.
I would prioritise that academic fit before chasing the largest discount. Write down the modules you want to take and the work you hope to do after graduation; that gives your programme choice a clearer purpose.
English-track admission starts at IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 3.5 (old scale: 59) or New TEPS 202. Applicants from countries where English is native or official may use the specified education evidence instead of a test. English-medium schooling alone does not create a waiver for applicants from other countries.
Korean-track TOPIK entry levels vary by programme: Level 4 for Korean language and literature, media and communication, and business administration; Level 2 for creative studies, arts and physical education, and entertainment and content; and Level 3 for other listed majors. The School of Global Liberal Studies has no entry language requirement. The guide also sets out accepted alternative Korean-language qualifications.

03 How do you apply for Sejong admission and scholarship consideration?
Submit the admission application and scholarship evidence together through Sejong’s One Stop Service Center. The order matters: online evaluation comes before admission, while original-document delivery and tuition payment follow an offer.
- Read the current guide. Download the English admission guide from Sejong’s undergraduate admissions page. Match your programme to its academic, language and document conditions before starting the form.
- Prepare the evidence. Assemble passport, school, family, language and financial documents, plus your study plan and any programme-specific portfolio. Follow the guide’s certification instructions; the plan must use your track’s teaching language. Our study-plan writing guide can help organize your academic goals, but Sejong’s form and instructions take priority.
- Select the correct intake. Open the official undergraduate application portal and choose “Undergraduate Admission for International Student (Spring 2027) 2nd Round.” Complete the form, pay the fee and upload clear scans before submission closes.
- Follow the evaluation. Monitor your email and portal account. Sejong may request an interview; respond to any individual instructions promptly.
- Complete registration after admission. Arrange postal delivery of the required originals and pay the invoiced tuition within the registration period. Allow time for both delivery and international payment processing.
I recommend keeping a submission checklist with the filename, issuing authority and certification status of every document. It makes the final upload review much easier and helps you prepare the matching postal package after admission.

04 Sejong application questions worth settling before submission
The remaining questions concern how to complete the process correctly, especially when your application moves from online assessment to registration.
Should I post my documents before admission?
No. Apply with online scans first; admitted students then send the required originals during registration. Keep the corresponding documents ready so an offer does not leave you rushing to organise delivery.
Does uploading documents alone complete my application?
No. Sejong requires the application form, application-fee payment and required uploads within the application period. Review all three parts before treating the submission as complete.
Can I deliver the originals after the registration deadline?
Missing the original-document deadline can cancel admission. Plan backward from the arrival deadline and leave a delivery margin rather than posting the package on the final day.
